Making Waves - The H²0 HydroTech Mini Chiller from Acson
Acson International are set to makes waves in the UK commercial market with the launch of their H²0 HydroTech mini chiller aimed at specifiers and consultants to the residential, commercial and process cooling sectors.
A major concern with VRV/VRF systems is that refrigerant enters the building, with the HydroTech package only water flows through the building pipework and fans coils. Water also allows for extended pipe runs, almost irrespective of length or elevation, only requiring additional water pumps to maintain water flow. Savings on installation are also generated by the use of water as standard plumbing fittings and tools can be used as opposed to specialist refrigeration equipment. The simplicity of the refrigeration circuit ensures no specialist knowledge is required to install the system.
The HydroTech system also allows for complete flexibility of design with no limit on the number or type of indoor fan coil units - either wall mounted, ceiling exposed, ducted or cassette - that can be connected to a correctly sized chiller. Refrigerant handling is also minimised as each unit is pre charged prior to installation and no additional environmentally friendly R407c will be needed.
Room temperature control using chilled water is very stable especially if modulating control valves are used to ensure regulated water flow at a constant temperature. The chillers can also be operated together with external boilers to provide simultaneous heating and cooling. The H²0 mini chiller and fan coil units can also work together with the new HydroIntel controller. HydroIntel is the Acson solution to effectively manage and control the operation of hydronic systems. Acting as the central control point the HydroIntel enables you to monitor and set parameters for chillers and fan coils at the same time.
